the research subject - research on bim (building information modeling) technology application for installation technology of central air-conditioning system, developed independently by aceg industrial equipment installation co. ltd. – one of aceg`s subsidiary, professionalized contractor for industrial equipment and facility installation and engineering, won the third-class award of 2018/2019 china installation association science and technology progress. the medal and the certificate of the award were issued on august 15, 2020.

aceg installation has actively promoted the application of bim technology over the past years，they have carried out activities as staff training, project pilot promotion，skill competition and exchange, which greatly improved the overall level of bim technology application in the company and provided a solid and powerful potential for the award.

the research project on the installation technology of central air-conditioning system by applying bim technology is targeted at the ever-present problems such as poor work efficiencies, pipeline collisions, slow execution speed and accuracy, its characteristics are as follows:

first, bim three-dimensional design expression and visualization and multi-professional mechanical and electrical collaborative designs are adopted to improve work efficiencies; second, use the function of bim collision inspection to optimize the problems if any, save materials and avoid a large number of reworks; third, bim model is used to carry out accurate statistics of the work quantities in the construction process, which ensures the continuity of works and greatly accelerates the work progresses; fourth, use visual disclosure process simulation technology, visual simulation disclosure and progress disclosure to the personnel, to improve the installation work accuracy through simulation rendering and detail processing animation.

this award is organized by china installation association, represents the highest level of technology in china`s installation industry.

the application of this technology has produced obvious social and economic benefits, and also enables the project owners to be more involved in the works, so it has been well received by the owners and the supervising engineers.
